For EVVA, it is essential that energy is saved through a wide range of measures, partly from renewable sources themselves and that energy efficiency in the company is increasingly improved. Energy consumption analysis: pilot project in the canteen

EVVA Vienna has launched a pilot project together with the agency “Watt Analytics” to identify undetected power guzzlers. "The canteen was selected because it is easy to test here after the meal service times. For this purpose, additional power consumption meters were installed in the control cabinets and low-voltage rooms. Everything is switched off completely and then each device is switched on and analysed individually," reveals Martin van Berkum, who coordinates the building services. It becomes clear that there are many ways to save energy. Calculated over the year – only for the canteen – this saves a total of around 4,000 euros or 15,000 kWh, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approx. 4 private households! "We are now implementing the recom­mendations. The electricity analysis is also interesting for other areas. We are currently looking at cost offers for production," stresses Martin van Berkum.
